Redefining Professional Development

Teachers are the most important driver of student growth, and districts are spending on average $18,000 per teacher per year on development efforts. Yet, while 90% of teachers have reported participating in formal professional development, most felt it didn’t meet their specific needs. It’s clear that the traditional one-size-fits-all approach to educator professional growth, based solely on seat-time, isn’t working anymore. It’s time for a new approach.

A New, Personalized Path to Professional Growth

BloomBoard is changing the way educators grow and learn by facilitating a shift toward  ‘learning by doing’ using micro-credentials. Our competency-based professional learning programs provide state and district leaders with an effective way to offer educators personalized learning opportunities specific to their growth goals and recognize them (both formally and informally) for the skills they’ve demonstrated in the classroom.

Competency-based Learning through Micro-credentials

Our integrated programs provide holistic professional growth experiences consisting of curated content, collaboration in online rooms, and demonstration of competence in specific skills using micro-credentials. Hundreds of micro-credentials are available through the platform and in many states, educators can receive formal PD credit or Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for successful completion. Currently, micro-credentials are approved for statewide credit hour equivalency in Texas, Florida, Illinois, Montana, Maryland, Massachusetts, and North Carolina, with several additional states in the approval process.
