CMU’s WEx, BloomBoard team to innovate education

Working Examples, an online knowledge-sharing community to support innovation in education based at Carnegie Mellon University, is partnering with BloomBoard in an effort to increase teacher access to professional development resources.

WEx, based at CMU’s Entertainment Technology Center, will provide the infrastructure and support to creators of professional development, while BloomBoard will provide a pipeline to its marketplace.

BloomBoard, a Silicon Valley-based startup, provides an online platform for school districts to collect data and recommend personalized training for each teacher based on their particular professional development needs. In November, the fast-growing startup  announced it would be opening a Pittsburgh office, and expects to hire about 20 to 30 employees in the Pittsburgh region before year’s end.
